Hi everyone! My name is Acacia, and I’m a sweet 1-year-old red female Shiba Inu from the second wave of 20 Shibas rescued as part of the #60ShibasRescue! Our group was given tree-themed names, and I was named after the acacia tree. All 20 of us were transported together to Shiba HQ, with DC SIR volunteers making the long journey to bring us to safety. I was the “lucky” one who got to make the trip cage-free! I started out sitting between the driver and passenger, but it didn’t take long before I climbed onto the passenger’s lap. I spent much of the long ride snuggled up and sleeping. When I first arrived at Shiba HQ, I wasn’t quite sure about all these new Shibas. I did a little grumbling at everyone, so the humans weren’t sure how I would fit into the group. But give a Shiba a little time! Within a couple of days, I was getting along with everyone and had earned free range of the house. I’m already proving to be a pretty pawfect house guest. I don’t have accidents, and I’ve settled into home life beautifully. I do have a dramatic side! When I play, I sometimes make a deep growling sound, but don’t let my soundtrack fool you. I’m just having fun! One of my favorite things is having a little Shiba friend to cuddle with. I’ve taken the tiniest Shiba in our group under my wing, and we cuddle together on the couch every night. I’m sweet, social, playful, and clearly a girl who knows how to make herself comfortable! I’ve come a long way since those first grumpy introductions, and I’m ready to find a forever home where I can keep everyone laughing, share my cuddles, and show off my very special Shiba personality.
