Hi everyone! My name is Asher, though my foster family also calls me Ash. I’m a 1-year-old red male Shiba Inu from the second wave of 20 Shibas rescued as part of the #60ShibasRescue! Our group was given tree-themed names, and I was named after the ash tree. Ash trees are often associated with inner strength, resilience, and healing. My human foster brother also thought it was a great name because Ash from Pokemon is awesome. All 20 of us were transported together to Shiba HQ, where I stayed for a day before our foster families picked us up. I was very anxious during the journey and spent most of the ride hiding on the floor. But once I arrived at my foster home, I showed everyone a very different side of myself! As soon as I got there, I was so excited that I started running around the yard with my foster sister, Sequoia. I LOVE to play and am a total zoomie master! I’m still pretty shy, but I’m getting braver every day. I’m very friendly with people and love attention. I’m also a serious cuddler. I like to lean into my people and make sure I’m touching you whenever possible. I may be a little stingy with my kisses, but I’ll happily make up for it with plenty of cuddles. I’m still learning how this leash thing works. Right now, walking is more like dragging, but my foster family is helping me learn. I’m also friendly with the resident cat and have been non-reactive around him. I’m still discovering what it means to be a family Shiba, but I’m learning more every day. I’m sweet, playful, cuddly, and full of zoomies, and I’m ready to find a forever family who will help me grow in confidence and show them my happy, silly personality!
