Hi everyone, my name is now Audie, I was named after decorated veteran Audie Murphy! I am a titled show dog, born October 2, 2018. I found myself in a rescue at no fault of my own. After my adoptive family had children, they didn’t have time for the other female Shiba and me, so we ended up spending our days in a crate and only came out when our dad came home from work. While I was not aggressive toward the children, my family was concerned that we were less tolerant of the toddlers grabbing us. Since the breeder is retired, DC SIR happily welcomed us! So let me tell you a bit about myself. I am excellent at walking on a leash, and I ride well in a car! When I arrived at Shiba HQ, I saw chickens and cats run by, but didn’t chase. I got to explore the yard before meeting the other dogs at Shiba HQ, I did great with all the female dogs – not one growl! But, I am NOT a fan of the 2 male puppies I met. I growled and snapped at them to show them who is boss. I don’t have any issues with the females. The senior Shiba, Katniss, likes to follow me in the yard, and I enjoy her company. I love people! I especially love their treats and back scratches. Once I know that you are my friend, I will plop myself in front of you with my back to you, indicating you may scratch my back! As you can see, I am very handsome, and I enjoy greeting people who bask in my good looks! I really do well with a house full of lady Shibas, but DC SIR thinks I would prefer to be the only male dog in the home. I am great with all cats and enjoy brushing and handling their bodies. If you have a friendly female dog, I would be interested in being your furever dog!
