Hi everyone, my name is now Blondi, suggested by a fan. I am a 2-year-old, cream female Shiba Inu. I weigh about 29 lbs. I have only ever lived in one home, and I was purchased from an Amish farm. I lived peacefully with another dog, 4 cats, and children. I am in DC SIR at no fault of my own. My family is moving to a new place that does not allow dogs. I am initially shy, but when I trust you, I will want to sit next to you on the couch and put my chin on your lap. DC SIR was told I was not walked on a leash and only pottied in a backyard. This is evident from a few tries with me on a leash. DC SIR will update leash walking as I adjust to my new environment. A volunteer drove me to Shiba HQ. When I arrived, I had to be carried to the backyard. At first, I explored the yard on my own. Soon, one by one, I got to meet all the other dogs, fosters, and boarding dogs at Shiba HQ. DC SIR said I had one of the easiest integrations ever! Not one growl from anyone. Even the cats seemed to know I was really scared and not a threat, and cuddled up next to me for a nap. I never really left my previous home, so I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. I wouldn’t take treats, but I accepted love from the volunteer who drove me. By the evening, I was jumping on the couch and cuddling with my foster mom! I even ate my raw food (after rolling in some of it). I learned the dog door in an hour, and DC SIR gave me free rein in the house. I am a perfect guest, and DC SIR thinks I can thrive in a variety of homes. Their biggest concern is my lack of socialization and leash walking. So they will need to update you on how I'm doing by taking me for walks and visiting stores!
