Hi everyone, my name is now Colby, like the cheese! I was born on October 13, 2025, in a PA puppy mill. I am a male Shiba Inu and have had the most incredible journey! You see, my brother and sister went to DC SIR back in December of 2025. They had cheese names, Havarti and Asiago. I was sold off to a pet store. I was adopted and lived in a home for a short while, but my owner took me to a shelter and told them I was “too much puppy.” The rescuer who helped my brother and sister in PA found out about me and called DC SIR. Initially, no one knew I was from the same litter. When DC SIR saw my medical with the exact same handwriting and puppy schedule from birth, they called the liaison, who was able to confirm that we are from the same litter! Let me tell you about myself. I rode well in the car (for 6 hours), but I did want to sit on the driver's lap, so a comforting hand helped me settle and nap. Once I arrived at Shiba HQ, I explored the yard on my own. I was a little nervous to meet the dogs and cats. Once Uncle Aureus started to play with me, I was so happy! I pranced around, brought toys to my foster family, and gave them kisses for getting me out of the shelter. I am as sweet as can be – just like my brother and sister! DC SIR thinks I will be great in a variety of homes! I am an active puppy, so I would need an active family or a multi-dog household to keep me busy. I love to fall asleep on the couch, curled up next to my foster mom. I enjoy puzzle games, walk well on a leash, and sleep through the night! I know DC SIR will find my pawfect forever home.
