Eko

Eko was deaf either since birth or a few months old due to inflammation; we were never sure. She had the shiba personality but also grew more shy and anxious in later years as her eyesight deteriorated. She was my soulmate and closest companion for 10 years. Moving with me from Washington DC to Italy for my work, at least she enjoyed 'la dolce vita' the last years of her life. She died suddenly at 10 years old leaving me and the rest of our dog family heartbroken. Interestingly, I had a DNA test done and the results showed that Eko was 76% Jindo(!!), 5% Akita, and only 3% Shiba!!
