Hazel is a 4 year old female red Shiba Inu. View her Facebook Album.
Hi everyone! My name is Hazel, and I’m a 4-year-old female Shiba Inu from the second wave of 20 Shibas rescued as part of the #60ShibasRescue. Our group was given tree-themed names, and I was named after the hazel tree, a small tree that produces the familiar hazelnut. A DC SIR volunteer picked me up, and I had a very long car ride to Shiba HQ with some of the other Shibas. It was quite a journey, but I made it safely and was ready to see what this new adventure was all about. I’ve been through a lot of changes, but I’m settling in and showing everyone what a happy girl I am. I recently came back to Shiba HQ after having a hard time adjusting to the other dogs at my foster home. Once I got back, though, I settled right in! Being back with my familiar Shiba crew helped me feel comfortable again, and it didn’t take long before I was happy and enjoying myself. I’m doing well with resident cats, so my feline friends and I can get along just fine. When it comes to dogs, I seem to prefer the boys! I enjoy having male dog friends around and think a friendly male companion could be a good match for me. But my favorite thing might be people! I absolutely LOVE giving kisses and showing everyone how happy I am to see them. I’m a loving girl who is ready to make friends and share plenty of affection. I’m hoping to find a forever home where I can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I may need some time to adjust to changes, but once I’m comfortable, my happy personality really comes out. I can’t wait to find the family who will let me fill their home with love, kisses, and plenty of Shiba happiness! Please apply to adopt me!
