Hi everyone! My name is Kori. My foster family gave me this name because they thought it suited me perfectly. I’m one year old and came to DC SIR after my previous family realized their home wasn’t the right fit for me. They knew DC SIR would help me find my forever home, so they reached out, and a kind volunteer brought me to Maryland. I was a little nervous at first. I cried during the ride because everything was so new. But when I arrived in Maryland, I was excited to meet my new foster mom! I did better on the ride to her house, peeking out the window and then settling in my bed. Once I got home, I was so excited and ran around, sniffing and exploring every corner of my new space. Afterward, we went for a walk. At first, I wasn’t sure about the neighborhood, but I quickly showed my foster mom that I’ve been walked on a leash before. I also met my foster dad and my brother, Gus, who is a DC SIR alum. Gus and I hit it off right away, and I showed him that I was ready to play. There are cats in the house too, and I didn’t mind them at all. When dinner time came, I happily ate all my food. Did I mention I love treats? That night, I slept in a crate next to Gus. I was so tired from my busy day and slept soundly through the night. I’m a young, playful pup with tons of energy. I love being around people and sometimes get a little sad when they leave the room. I can be vocal when I want attention too. Now that I’m settled in, I’m patiently waiting for my forever family. Could that be you? If you have the time and love to devote to me, please apply to adopt me!
