Latte is an 6 month old, female Shiba Inu. View her Facebook Album.
Hi everyone, my name is now Latte, a name picked by a Facebook Fan! I am a 6-month-old female Shiba Inu. I was surrendered to a shelter after my owners said they were moving to a place that did not allow dogs. The shelter contacted DC SIR, and despite being full, my foster home quickly agreed to bring me into foster before the Memorial Weekend. DC SIR asked their adoptive community who found a volunteer to take off work and spend the day driving me from the shelter to Shiba HQ! The volunteer said I was so very happy to be out of the shelter, and I did zoomies on the grass on my way to transport! When I arrived at Shiba HQ, it was pouring rain, so I didn’t get to do outdoor meet and greets. I met the other rescues and resident cats one by one. When I didn’t feel comfortable, I hid under the couch. At first, the other puppy, Harley, intimidated me, and I ran from him. But when the rain stopped and we got to play outside, we became best friends. Now I play with him nonstop! Let me tell you about myself. I am gentle with people, cats, dogs, and children. I love giving kisses when I am comfortable with you. I can jump all over the couch and play all day! I’m a petite Shiba Inu at only 13 lbs, and DC SIR doesn’t think I will get much bigger. I adjusted very quickly to my foster home, and I even learned how to use stairs and the dog door in just one day! I haven’t even had any potty accidents in the home. DC SIR thinks I will be very popular, if you think I am a good fit for your home, make sure to apply for me early. I would do great in just about any home environment, but especially with a multi-pet or active family!
