Lychee is a 4 year old female red Shiba Inu. View her Facebook Album.
Hi everyone! My name is Lychee, and I’m a sweet 4-year-old female Shiba Inu from the second wave of 20 Shibas rescued as part of the #60ShibasRescue. Our group was given tree-themed names, and my foster family named me Lychee because the lychee tree bears a very sweet fruit, just like me. DC SIR volunteer picked me up, and I had a very long car ride to Shiba HQ with some of the other Shibas. It was quite a journey, but I did just fine and even stretched out for a quick nap along the way. Once we arrived at Shiba HQ, I was eventually picked up by my foster family and headed off to my new home! When I arrived, I was very curious! I spent my first bit of time sniffing everything and making little loops around the house to check it all out. I settled in nicely and have been showing everyone what a sweet girl I am. I’m calm, gentle, and very people-oriented. I’ll walk right up to meet people and calmly sniff them, and if you lie down on the floor, I may come over for some cuddles. I’m quite the walking expert, too! I walk beautifully on a leash and have no trouble being leashed or unleashed. I even stayed calm when we saw deer during a neighborhood walk. I didn’t chase them! I get a little nervous around sudden noises, like a door closing or a plastic bag opening, and I’m not a fan of small enclosed spaces. I also seem to love being near the outdoors and am often hanging out by the door. I’m not quite sure what “sit” means yet, but I’m ready to learn. Overall, I’m a sweet, gentle girl who is enjoying discovering what it’s like to be safe and loved. I’m excited to keep learning and see where my next adventure takes me!
