Rowan is a 3 year old female red Shiba Inu. View her Facebook Album.

Hi everyone! My name is Rowan, and I’m a 3-year-old red female from the second wave of 20 Shibas rescued as part of the #60ShibasRescue. Our group was given tree-themed names, and I was named after the rowan tree, a small tree known for its clusters of bright berries. A DC SIR volunteer picked me up, and I had a very long car ride to Shiba HQ with all of the other Shibas. It was quite a journey, but I arrived safely and have been busy getting used to all the changes in my life. I’ve already discovered that there are some pretty fun Shiba friends here! I absolutely LOVE playing with friendly male dogs, especially my buddies Aureus and Ranger! They bring out my playful side, and I’m happiest when I can run around and have fun with them. I’m okay with most female dogs, but the humans think a home with male dogs only would be the best fit for me to help keep everyone happy and comfortable. I’ve been enjoying my time at Shiba HQ and getting to experience all sorts of new things. I especially like going on my leash walks and helping with the daily chores. Doing my morning walk and hanging out with Aureus makes even the ordinary stuff feel like an adventure! I’m looking for a family who understands that finding the right dog friends is important for me. A friendly male Shiba companion could be a wonderful match, or I could be perfectly happy as your one-and-only girl. I’ve been through a lot of changes, but I’m settling in and showing everyone what a fun, sweet girl I can be. I’m ready for my next adventure and hoping it leads me to a forever home where I can run, play, explore, and be loved just as I am!
