Sasha is a 2 year old, female Shiba Inu. View her Facebook Album.

Hi everyone, my name is now Sasha, a name was picked by a Facebook fan! I am a 2-year-old red female Shiba Inu. I was found as a stray by a VA shelter. I didn’t do well in the overcrowded shelter. One of the volunteers took me to her house with cats and dogs so I could decompress during my stray hold. I did have to go back to the shelter for a short time when she had guests, again, I didn’t do well. When I went back to her house, I went after the dogs and cats at the home. So, DC SIR expects me to be a no-dog and no-cat home. I was able to get spayed before leaving for DC SIR because their spay wait is now over 2.5 months! Good thing I was able to get spayed there since I was in early state of pregnancy and would have ended up having puppies in rescue! I spent half the day in a car the day after my spay to Shiba HQ. I rode well in the car with my seatbelt and popped my head up for treats and pets. When I got to Shiba HQ, my foster mom decided to spend the day doing a proper integration with all the dogs and cats at Shiba HQ. I met the neutral dogs first and barely growled at them. After a few hours, I met the more dogs, and while I growled and snapped, with a lot of movement and positive reinforcement, I was able to integrate with all the dogs. The same process took a couple of hours indoors with the cats. However, I am still TBD on good with other dogs/cats. I LOVE pets, and I snuggle in my foster mom’s lap. I follow her around everywhere, and DC SIR knows I would be a great companion to an active person who would love to take me everywhere! I learned the dog door, had zero accidents, & free range the house!
