Hi everyone, my name is now Tao! I was born on December 28, 2025, in a PA puppy mill. I was scheduled for euthanasia, along with my sister, because we didn’t pass our health checks to be shipped for purchase. Luckily, the place could save money on euthanasia by surrendering to a rescue. That rescue quickly contacted DC SIR and asked if they would help us. DC SIR was told I was almost blind. However, when I got to Shiba HQ, my foster mom took some time to look closely at my eye outside in good lighting. She could see I had really bad entropion on all 4 lids. She got us squeezed into Katniss’s vet appointment the next day. The vet said I had the worst case she had ever seen and would need a surgeon. Thankfully, I got my 2nd appointment in just days. I was obviously in a lot of pain. The vet decided to try to stitch my eyes open. OMG, in just a day, I was feeling so much better! My sister couldn’t steal my treats anymore because I could see her now! I was more playful and came out of my pen, and my eyes stopped constantly tearing. We aren’t entirely sure if the stitches will be enough. If this doesn’t work, I will have to go back for a more intrusive surgery to remove parts of my lids on all my upper lids and maybe lower lids. I am a happy, active puppy who loves everyone I meet. I’m not a fan of my foster mom always messing with my eyes and putting stuff in them, but I don’t mind so much when she gives me treats. DC SIR believes there are no other issues, and I should have a healthy and happy life.
