Hi everyone! My name is now Texel, and I am named after a beach in the Netherlands. I am a 4-year-old female Shiba Inu. I was rescued from a breeding facility with 20 other Shibas. DC SIR is still going back for 40 of my friends, so please keep supporting them. I was fully vetted by DC SIR before coming up on their transport. Unfortunately, I tested positive for Heartworm. I will be getting treatment while at Shiba HQ. The good news is that I am young and healthy, and I don’t have any symptoms, so I am just going to tell you a bit about myself. I was living in an outdoor run with my sister, and I absolutely love it when people come to say hi to me! I am an outgoing and friendly Shiba! I quickly realized my foster mom was nice, and I follow her around for pets and treats. I have done really well with all the dogs and cats at Shiba HQ. Although sometimes I can get into a spat with another female, one dog keeps trying to hump me, and it’s annoying, so I have to yell at her to stop it! I love greeting people, and you will see me lay my ears flat and give you a huge smile in hopes that you will come pet me! I haven’t had any accidents in the house, and I learned to use the dog door very quickly! I love eating my nutrient-dense raw food too! I was able to find squeaky toys lying around the house, and I got sooo excited when one of them squeaked that I grabbed it and ran so no one could steal it from me. My foster mom said that when I get adopted, I will have all the toys and there won’t be so many dogs trying to take them from me.
